JAMMU, Aug 31: National Student Union of India (NSUI) under the leadership of its District President, Sunny Parihar staged a protest demonstration against the Vice Chancellor and Dean Academic Affairs of Cluster University Jammu demanding excluding all service charges mentioned in fee structure for both UG and PG students.
Speaking on the occasion Parihar said fee is highly variable for course like M. Ed in Cluster University of Jammu and at University of Jammu which is discrimination.
He claimed that JU charges Rs. 10,920 for M.Ed while Cluster University demands about Rs. 22,940 for the same course.

He also demanded that students of EWS and BPL category may be exempted from paying fee for the current session.
NSUI leaders Sourav Verma, Yaser Choudhary and Kashif Choudhary also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar also staged a protest demonstration against Cluster University and Jammu University at VC Office of Jammu University demanding fee reduction.
The protesters demanded that only valid fees like tuition fees should be charged from the students and “unnecessary fees” like examination fees, library fees and pool fees should not be charged because all these facilities are closed for the students since the last six months due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The protesters also demanded fees reduction for current academic year for all semesters, hostel fees should be refunded as no student is on campus and since exams were canceled, exam fees of every student except final year students should be reimbursed.
ABVP has also submitted a memorandum to all the colleges under Cluster University and also to the Vice Chancellor of both Cluster University and Jammu University containing these demands.
The protesters included Nandita, Joint Secretary ABVP J&K, Shubham Amar, President ABVP Jammu University, Chahat Anand, Niyati, Gourav, Priyanshu, Manik Goswami, Chitwan Bali, Parteek Raina, Piyush Raina, Jai Gupta, Rishab Bali, Akash Bhagat, Nirdesh Khajuria and others.
