NSF celebrates birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu

JAMMU, Feb 13: To celebrate 146th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Sarojini Naidu, National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University unit, today organized a program on the university campus.
Ankush Abrol, Jammu Provincial Joint Secretary JKNC was chief guest on the occasion while Dr Vikas Sharma, Coordinator Jammu District and Zonal Secretary JKNC, presided over the event. TR Sharma ( KAS-Retd) was the guest of honour.
Born in Hyderabad on February 13, 1879, Sarojini Naidu played a pivotal role in India’s freedom movement. After independence, she also became the first Governor of Uttar Pradesh. She was also a pioneering figure in Indian English poetry.
Speaking on the occasion, Ankush Abrol threw light on the life history of Sarojini Naidu and appealed youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society.
Vikas Sharma , in his address, said that the real tributes to Sarojini Naidu would be eradicating evils prevailing in the society like drug addiction.
TR Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Gourav Partap Singh, President University Unit, delivered the welcome address while Abhishek Uppal, Jammu District Chairman of NSF , presented the vote of thanks.
