NSF appeals Guv to open VC lodge for border displaced JU students

JAMMU, Nov 2: Expressing grief over migration triggered from border areas with most of the students of Jammu University getting displaced, National Secular Forum (NSF) has appealed Governor NN Vohra, who happens to be Chancellor of Jammu University, to direct JU Vice Chancellor to come forward to the rescue of migrant students studying in the campus by accommodating them in available premises of the University.
In a statement, Dr Vikas Sharma, State president, NSF, flayed the administration of the University for not feeling the pinch of difficulties and grievances of its own students who are on the regular roll in the campus.
He stated that there should be a spontaneous action of the university authority to express solidarity with the grieved migrant students instead of NGOs knocking the doors of higher authorities to awake university administration to protect the interests of its own students who are in a thick soup due to disturbances in the border areas.
Dr Sharma appealed the Governor to order opening of VC lodge and other buildings for the shelter of regular students of border areas and make required arrangements for their food and stay so that their studies and academic career do not suffer.
