JAMMU, June 24: Alleging increased crime, lawlessness and corruption in Ramnagar, hundreds of Panthers Party activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh party chairman  staged a massive protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today.
The agitated protesters amid shouting anti-BJP slogans sought administrative overhaul in Ramnagar and registration of FIR against the local MLA who had let loose a reign of terror in the constituency.
Flaying the Coalition Govt in the State and BJP in particular responsible for rampant anarchy and unbridled harassment of poor, destitute and un-influential in the current regime, Harsh Dev took a jibe at Saffron MLA from Ramnagar RS Pathania for enjoying immunity from legal action despite his highly scandalous, immoral and opprobrious conducts ever since he had become a legislator.
He said there were more than two dozen criminal complaints besides corruption charges against the said MLA pertaining to criminal offences, encroachment of State lands, illegal smuggling of conifer trees, swindling of subsidies from Horticulture and Agriculture Departments, money extortion from officers of various departments in the name of transfers besides harassment of employees and victimization of people who raised their voice against his felonies.
Deploring the bizarre felonious offence committed by MLA Ramnagar of late, Singh lambasted RS Pathania for trespassing into Higher Secondary School Basantgarh a couple of days ago along with his PSOs with a motive to harass the teachers in the name of holding their test by recklessly questioning them. He said that the legislator stormed into one of the classrooms and in the process of screening caught hold of one teacher named Pritam Singh and abused him for lacking expertise in his subject in front of the students.
“When the teacher resisted the MLA saying that he knew his subject well, the latter lost his wits and hurled choicest of abuses on the teacher and called armed gunmen inside the classroom. In an unprecedented episode, police not only made unauthorized entry into the class room but manhandled the teacher at the behest of the MLA and physically assaulted him before throwing him out of the school premises”, Harsh regretted.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Yash Pal Kundal, Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap, Khajoor Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Tanantar Singh, Shankaar Singh, Ravinder Jamwal, Arun Khajuria, Mohinder Singh, Rakesh Singh, Capt Narotam Singh and others.
