JAMMU, May 16: Employers can now make payment of ESI contribution directly by net banking and there is no need of any extra expertise for the purpose.
Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has recently made provision for online payment of ESI contribution through net banking, which was hitherto being done manually against payment slips created through ESI’s computer application.
With this provision, employers can make payment of ESI Contribution directly by net banking. Only difference now is that there is no need of printing the challan pay slip, and payment is to be made directly by net banking which will reflect in the employer’s portal directly.
ESIC also provides facilities like self online registration by new employer, registration of employees, etc, for which is no charge to be paid.
Regional Director, ESIC, Jammu, Arvind Kumar has clarified that there is no system of authorization or licensing of any person or agency for preparation of records and filing or payment of ESI contribution under the ESI Act, 1948. The employers covered under the ESI Act should exercise caution on being approached by any such person or agency. He added that if any employer elects to take service persuaded by any such person or agency, it would be at the risk of such employers. He also clarified that such person is neither employee of ESIC nor its agent in any way.
He advised the employers in J&K, who are covered under the ESI Act, to exercise caution on being approached by any outside person or agency in the name of facilitation of net banking payment of ESI contribution and if any such person claims to be employee of the organization, the credentials may be checked and the matter may be brought to his notice for necessary action.
