Now, EC to hold review from Delhi

JAMMU, Dec 5: The full Election Commission today postponed its tomorrow’s visit to Srinagar in the wake of multiple terror attacks in the Valley, which took several lives and kept all security agencies busy.
Official sources said the full Election Commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath and comprising Election Commissioner BS Brahma and Dr Naseem Zaidi and Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi was scheduled to hold high level review of security situation for remaining phases of elections with top brass of civil and police administration apart from Chief Electoral Officer Umang Narula in Srinagar tomorrow.
However, after series of militant attacks, the full Election Commission has deferred the visit and will now be reviewing situation in Jammu and Kashmir from New Delhi through video conferencing with senior officers.
Sources said the administration was busy with making fool-proof security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first ever election rally in Srinagar on December 8 and third phase of polling for 16 Assembly seats on December 9.
