JAMMU, Sept 9: Banihal police solved three theft cases with the arrest of a notorious burglar and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, while working over theft cases, Banihal police rounded up several suspects and during questioning one of them broke down and confessed to commit the thefts.
The accused has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Satar Lone of Batabass Shagan Khari.
The accused has admitted that he had stolen mobiles, charges and other items from the shop of Rayees Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani Wani of Hollen, Banihal.
On his disclosure, police recovered large quantity of stolen mobile phones and other items.
With the arrest of this notorious thief, Banihal police has solved three theft cases registered under FIR Numbers 151/15, 136/14 and 173/14 with Banihal police station.
Further investigation into the cases is going on.
Police team led by SHO Banihal police station Inspector Tariq Naik made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
