JAMMU, Oct 24: Gadigarh police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a notorious drugs supplier and recovered heroin worth several thousands from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gadigarh Police Post raised a surprise check point and signaled a scooty bearing registration number JK02BS-7974 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the rider tried to escape, but the alert cops intercepted the vehicle after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 8.5 grams heroin from the possession of the rider, who was a notorious drugs supplier and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Simran Singh, son of Balbir Singh, a resident of Indra Nagar, Jammu.
With the arrest of Simran Singh, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 213/17 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Gadigarh Police Post SI Gurupal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
