KATRA, May 24: Katra Police today arrested two notorious drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of psychotropic substances from their possession.
A police team of Police Station Katra laid a surprise naka and apprehended two individuals identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Rashid Mani, resident of Panjar, Tehsil Moungri, District Udhampur and Anshu, son of Sheru, resident of Serli, Katra.
During the checking, 600 Tramadol capsules were recovered from the posession of Anshu and 1070 Alprazolam tablets were seized from Sanjay Kumar.
Police arrested the duo and registered a case FIR No. 149/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act in this connection at Police Station Katra. Investigation is underway to uncover the backward and forward linkages of this drug network.
The operation was led by SHO Katra Khyatimaan Khajuria, under the supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
