Notorious drug peddler detained under PSA

DODA, Oct 7: A notorious drug peddler has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) here.
As per police sources, a habitual offender of bovine smuggling and narcotics drugs namely Adil Fareed, son of Fareed Ahmed, a resident of Runta Bhaderwah has been detained under PSA by the order of District Magistrate Doda for his involvement in bovine smuggling incessantly and drug peddling as well.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the accused was involved in a number of FIRs of bovine smuggling and drugs peddling registered against him at Police Station Bhaderwah. In spite of involvement in number of FIRs of bovine smuggling, the subject did not mend himself and did not bother about the law of the land. In place to mention here that the subject was also plunged in the black business of smuggling and supplying of narcotics drugs to youth of the area which is evident from the FIR registered against him under NDPS Act at Police station Bhaderwah.
The accused was a dreaded criminal involved in the business of bovine smuggling together with trade of narcotics drugs. His criminal activities of both types were definitely a serious threat to locals of the area especially youth and also detrimental and prejudicial to the public order of the district.
Acting tough against drug and bovine smugglers, this year Doda Police has registered 36 FIRs against 40 persons and 2 notorious drug peddlers have been booked under PSA. Similarly 31 FIRs have been registered against 86 bovine smugglers besides 10 vehicles involved in the transportation of bovine animals have been seized, 418 bovine animals have been rescued and 3 notorious bovine smugglers were booked under PSA.
