KATRA, July 31: Reasi Police has booked and detained a notorious drug peddler under the Public Safety Act (PIT-NDPS).
The accused, namely Raj Singh, son of Late Thakur Singh, resident of Panthal Road, Pujari Mohalla Arli Hansali, Tehsil Katra, was actively involved in drug trafficking and had multiple cases registered against him, including FIR No. 101/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No. 103/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, along with DDR No. 19 dated 04.07.2025 at Police Station Katra. Despite repeated warnings, he continued his involvement in supplying drugs to the youth of Katra area.
Given his persistent criminal conduct and its grave threat to public health and societal wellbeing, he was detained under PIT-NDPS Act through Detention Order No. 49 of 2025 dated 30.07.2025, issued by Ramesh Kumar, Div Com Jammu.
On directions of SSP Reasi, Paramveer Singh, dossiers were prepared and executed by the team of Police Station Katra, leading to arrest of Raj Singh, who has been now shifted to Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
