JAMMU, Mar 1: A notorious drug peddler was booked under the PIT NDPS Act in Samba district and lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
Ashwani Kumar alias Rinku of Vijaypur, district Samba, was booked under the stringent law for his continuous involvement in spreading drug menace in Samba district, said a police official.
According to him, the accused was involved in illegal drug activities, posing a significant threat to the peaceful environment of the region by attempting to lure local youth into drug addiction.
He said the accused is already facing several cases at different police stations for his role in promoting the drug trade.
