KATRA, May 11: In continuation of its war against drug menace, Katra Police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 5.43 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a surprise naka was laid today near SMVDSB Stadium, Katra, by a police party led by SHO Katra, Khyatiman Khajuria. During the operation, one person namely Kishore Kumar, son of Sham Lal of Aghar Jitto, Katra, Reasi was apprehended. Upon search, a heroin-like substance weighing approximately 5.43 grams was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 131/2025, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
According to Police, the arrested individual is a notorious repeat offender, previously involved in multiple cases, including FIR No. 266/2013 U/S 451/323/147/148 RPC; FIR No. 167/2019 U/S 341/323/506/34 IPC; FIR No. 255/2023 U/S 341/323/504/406 IPC; FIR No. 242/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No. 131/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
