SAMBA, Aug 11: In a significant breakthrough, Samba police has arrested a notorious criminal wanted in multiple cases of attempt to murder and NDPS Act registered at Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
Police said its team headed by SHO Police Station (PS), Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas after sustained efforts and well-coordinated operation apprehended a notorious criminal namely Mohd Younus, son of Noor Alam of Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur district Samba who was wanted in different FIRs of PS Vijaypur including, FIR No. 38/2023 U/S 307/382/353/332/ 336/147/148 IPC, FIR No. 132/2023 U/S 307/382/332/353/ 148/149/34 IPC, FIR No. 155/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act, FIR No.07/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR No.58/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
Police said he was also an absconder and was wanted in case FIR No. 204/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of PS Vijaypur. The accused was evading his arrest for the last two years after the issuance of arrest warrant against him by the Samba Court U/S 299 CrPC.
