JAMMU, Jan 6: Miran Sahib Police today arrested a notorious criminal in an attempt to murder case and snatching of a vehicle worth Rs 20 lakh.
Acting on a complaint received today from a person namely Sandeep Singh son of Jasbir Singh, resident of Sarore (Samba) against Dilbagh Singh son of Janak Singh and resident of Ward Number 4, Simbal Camp (Jammu) regarding assault on him and snatching of his Scorpio car worth Rs 20 lakh, a case FIR Number 126/2022 U/S 307/382/IPC, 4/25 Arms Act was registered in Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
To work out the case, a special team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq was constituted by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh. The team with the help of various CCTV footages of the area finally generated the input that the accused has escaped to Punjab. On this, the police team went to Punjab and with the help of native police of the area finally traced and arrested the accused.
The Scorpio S 11 bearing Registration No JK21H-9797, which the accused has snatched from the victim was also recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case was going on.
It is pertinent to mention that the arrested accused is a hardcore criminal and history sheeter of Police Station Miran Sahib. Moreover, there are more than 13 criminal cases in UT and 2 cases in Punjab registered against him but he was evading his arrest. The nature of cases the accused was involved into were attempt to murder, assault cases, stabbing, using illegal fire arms and sharp edged weapons, NDPS Act, counterfeit currency cases etc.
