JAMMU, Feb 15: Police in Jammu district today claimed they have arrested a notorious criminal who was wanted in multiple cases.
Simranjot Singh alias Simran of Chatha Pind, district Jammu, was involved in numerous criminal activities, including attempt to murder, armed assault, and illegal possession of weapons, a police official said.
The criminal was wanted in at least ten FIRs registered against him at different police stations but he was evading his arrest, he said.
“He was arrested today by joint teams of Police Station Satwari and Miran Sahib,” the police official said.
The arrest of the criminal sent a sigh of relief to the people of Chatha and adjoining areas, added the police official.
