Srinagar, May 8: Last night police arrested a notorious criminal in Kupwara.
Police said that Kupwara police signaled a Tata Sumo vehicle to stop at a Naka in Kupwara which fled away. “The message was passed on to another Naka along the route. At the second naka the vehicle did not stop and tried to flee away. Seeing this the police party fired two shots. One of the shots hit a person in the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle stopped and the persons boarding the vehicle fled away.”
Police said that after some time police got the information that the injured person has been brought to Kupwara Hospital with a bullet injury in left leg. The person was later identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan alias Munta son of Innatuallh Khan resident Bungam Bulkote, Hygam who is a notorious criminal involved in more than a dozen cases of robbery and burglary. He has been previously detained twice under PSA.
Kupwara police has registered a case FIR No 89/2013 in this regard. Investigation has been started.
