POONCH, June 1: In a decisive action aimed at preserving public peace and reinforcing the rule of law, District Police Poonch has booked a habitual offender under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
A police spokesman said that Mehboob Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmed, resident of Gagrian, Sawjian, Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch, has been involved in multiple criminal cases registered across different police stations. His criminal record includes– FIR No. 85/2015, under Sections 381/420/201 RPC, Police Station Magam, District Budgam;
FIR No. 85/2022, under Section 188 IPC & Section 11 of the PCA Act, Police Station Surankote; FIR No. 103/2022, under Section 188 IPC & Section 11 of the PCA Act, Police Station Surankote; FIR No. 89/2022, under Section 188 IPC & Section 11 of the PCA Act, Police Station Mandi; FIR No. 74/2024, under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act, Police Station Mandi.
Due to his continued involvement in criminal and anti-social activities that posed a serious threat to public order, he has been detained under the PSA. The detention order, issued by the District Magistrate Poonch, was executed by Police Station Mandi. The accused has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
