SAMBA, Feb 23: A notorious criminal was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged in District Jail Kathua today.
Jaqoob Ali alias Juka of Madhera, Tehsil and District Samba, was booked under the PSA after obtaining formal detention orders the District Magistrate Samba and later lodged in the Kathua jail, said SSP Samba Varinder Manhas.

He said the criminal was involved in multiple cases registered against him at Police Station Samba.
“His activities were constantly posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquillity in the region. In order to stop him from further indulging in such activities, a dossier under the PSA was recommended against him,” he said, adding, “The District Magistrate Samba got satisfied with this dossier and issued a PSA warrant against him.”
Accordingly, the arrest warrant was executed and the criminal arrested by a team of Police Station Samba, added the police official.
