RAMBAN, Feb 21: Police here today detained a habitual bovine smuggler under the provisions of J&K Public Safety Act (PSA), 1978.
The accused, Mohd Ziyarat, son of Mohd Akram, resident of Molsi, Chanderkote, Tehsil & District Ramban, was involved in bovine smuggling activities in the district and several FIRs were registered against him at different Police Stations of Ramban.
Despite his earlier arrests and preventive measures, he continued to indulge in unlawful activities, thereby posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquillity.
Based on his continuous involvement in criminal activities and after compiling the relevant dossier, a detention order was issued by the District Magistrate Ramban under the provisions of PSA.
Accordingly, the accused was detained and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
