UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: District Police Udhampur booked and detained one more habitual bovine smuggler under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) on the detention orders issued by the District Magistrate Udhampur.
The accused namely Mohd Akram, son of Maskeen Ali, resident of Jojre Talab Udhampur, was booked in a number of bovine smuggling cases registered in the district.
Meanwhile, foiling two bovine smuggling attempts, Udhampur Police arrested two accused and rescued five bovines
Team of Police Post Ghordi foiled one bovine smuggling bid and rescued four bovines besides arresting the alleged smuggler, identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Mohd Yousef, resident of Dhandal, Ramnagar.
In another case, a team of PS Udhampur rescued one bovine, which was being smuggled in a vehicle (Load Carrier) bearing registration number JK14K- 1764. Driver of the Load Carrier, identified as Shakar Hussain, son of Qasim Din of Dhandal, Ramnagar was arrested on the spot.
