POONCH, Dec 20: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, today visited Shahsitar in the Surankote sector to review the operational readiness of Army units deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the Pir Panjal region.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the prevailing security situation, ongoing intelligence-based operations, and the preparedness of troops operating in difficult terrain.
He stressed the importance of constant vigilance, quick response, and continuous skill upgradation to effectively deal with emerging security challenges.
The Army Commander highlighted the growing role of modern technology, real-time intelligence sharing, and close coordination with other security and intelligence agencies to strengthen counter-terrorism operations in Jammu & Kashmir.
Interacting with officers and jawans, Lt Gen Sharma praised the troops for their professionalism, high morale, and operational efficiency.
He commended the realistic and innovative training being carried out, which has helped soldiers remain resilient and adaptable in complex operational conditions.
Lt Gen Sharma also acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of troops serving in tough conditions.
He reaffirmed the Northern Command’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers and their families, while maintaining a strong focus on national security.
