LEH, Feb 19: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma today visited the Siachen Brigade and reviewed the combat potential and operational preparedness of troops.
The Army commander lauded the professionalism, courage and dedication of the soldiers deployed at one of the world’s highest and coldest military zones and urged all ranks to embrace technology to effectively meet the challenges of modern warfare.
Sharma also visited the Siachen Ski Node, where he evaluated the training infrastructure and skiing capabilities, and interacted with troops operating in the extremely harsh climate and terrain.
Interacting with the troops, Sharma lauded their unwavering dedication, high state of readiness and professional excellence while operating in difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions.
The Army Commander also visited the Air Movement Control Centre and Logistics Hub at Leh, where he reviewed the advanced logistics facilities that sustain troops deployed in remote, high-altitude border areas of Eastern Ladakh.
Appreciating the adoption of contemporary material handling techniques, he emphasized the importance of innovation and efficiency in logistics to meet the requirements of modern warfare.
He urged the personnel to continue their committed and professional service to further enhance operational effectiveness.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to maintaining high levels of operational readiness and security along the northern borders.
