KARGIL, Nov 11: A meeting of Non-local Lecturer’s Forum, Ladakh, was held under the chairmanship of its president Dr Krishan Kant through virtual mode wherein the Forum demanded immediate repatriation of lecturers from Ladakh UT.
While addressing the meeting, Dr Kant said that near about 65 Lecturers, including one Chief Education Officer are serving in Ladakh region for more than four years against stipulated time of two years in Ladakh. “Jammu & Kashmir administration had assured that all non-local Lecturers would be repatriated to J&K UT with apportionment which was going to be completed by or before 30th September 2021. Meanwhile MHA mentioned in the minutes of the meeting that repatriation of employees from Ladakh UT and apportionment are two separate issues and will be dealt separately. General Administrative Department J&K has sought substitutes of those serving in Ladakh from time to time but unfortunately no substitutes have been provided by the department, he rued.
The Forum claimed that both the Directorates at Jammu and Srinagar provided replacement of all the 63 Lecturers to School Education Department in October 2021 but the Department was not submitting the replacement to General Administrative Department and delaying it without any reason.
Urging Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his personal intervention for immediate repatriation of all J&K Government employees in general and Lecturers of Education Department in particular working there without any deputation allowance, the Forum said that many of these Lecturers are facing health problems due to harsh weather conditions.
Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by General Secretary Basheer Ahmed. Others who participated in the meeting, included Ghulam Mohd Shah, Mohd Ashraf Wani, Amit Kumar, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Mohd Yousuf, Anil Kumar, Ankush Sharma, Zahoor Ahmed Shiekh, Jaleel Ahmed Lone, Nazir Ahmed, Amit Kumar, Arshad Ahmed, Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Bilal Ahmed Kahndey Tahir Rashid, Vishal Sharma, Ziafat Ahmad Khan and Vikas Bhagat.
