RAMBAN, Nov 9: A non-local hawker was found dead in a deep gorge in Sherbibi area of tehsil Banihal today evening, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Irfan, son of Mohammad Zahoor of Bijnore, Uttar Pradesh, at present Magerkote. He was a hawker selling clothes in the rural areas and from the spot many rags of clothes were also found which suggest that he might have gone to the area for selling purpose.
The dead body has grievous injuries due to the fall from and accordingly has been sent to SDH Banihal for post-mortem.
There is no militancy angle involved apparently the injuries suggest death due to fall, they said.
An inquest proceeding has been initiated at Police Station Banihal to ascertain the circumstances of the death.
