Non-functional ticket counters among issues raised by General Bus Stand shopkeepers

JAMMU, Mar 7: The shopkeepers of General Bus Stand Jammu have expressed concern over the non-functional ticket counters at the Bus Stand.
These shopkeepers also claimed that boarding and de-boarding of buses from outside the Bus-Stand is further hitting their earnings.
“Almost all the buses coming to the Bus Stand de-board the passengers outside the Bus Stand and from there the passengers leave,” said Sahil Verma, a shopkeeper at the General Bus Stand Jammu adding that because of this, such passengers do not get a chance to visit popular places of Jammu like Raghunath temple, shrine of Bawe Wali Mata etc.
Some more shopkeepers informed that if this continues then their earnings will be hit and it will be tough for them to meet the expenses of their shops and families. The vice president of General Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association Jammu urged the district administration of Jammu to intervene and ensure that all the buses coming and leaving Jammu should do so from the General Bus Stand.
He also demanded making fully functional the ticket counter at the Bus Stand. Many more shopkeepers echoed similar concern.
