SRINAGAR, Apr 13: Government Lal Ded Hospital said it is strictly adhering to environmental safety norms and ruled out any discharge of untreated liquid waste into the River Jhelum.
The hospital informed that a fully functional Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is in place on the premises, treating all hospital waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
Officials said the treated water meets prescribed standards before being released, and regular maintenance checks are conducted to ensure smooth operation.
“Environmental responsibility is a priority for the hospital. We comply with all guidelines set by environmental authorities,” the hospital stated.
Reaffirming its commitment to both advanced healthcare and ecological safety, the hospital said it maintains full transparency in its waste management practices.
Medical Superintendent Dr Muzaffar Jan said that a few individuals were “spreading misinformation” and making claims without verifying the facts.
“The hospital is equipped with a fully functional STP, established to ensure that no untreated waste is released into the environment,” he said, adding that the hospital remains committed to environmental safety and public health.
He noted that the STP is operational and maintained in strict accordance with environmental norms.
