No point in discussing Burhan Wani, Yasin Malik in Assembly: Dr DK Manyal

JAMMU, Feb 3: Former Minister and MLA Ramgarh, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, today stated that there is no point in discussing terrorist Burhan Wani, incarcerated JKLF Chief Yasin Malik, and other secessionist elements in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
He was reacting to NC legislator Showkat Ahmad Ganie’s alleged references to Wani and Malik during his speech on the Lieutenant Governor’s address.
Ganie had claimed that while BJP frequently targets the National Conference for rigging in 1987 and tension in the Valley, the party should answer who was responsible for the situation after the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani.
Claiming that the sentiment in Kashmir has always remained anti-establishment, Ganie had also stated that the same sentiment led to the creation of the JKLF.
Reacting to these references, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal said, “What’s the point in discussing people like terrorist Burhan Wani, incarcerated JKLF chief Yasin Malik, and other secessionist elements in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly?”
“This august house should discuss the mainstream politicians like Sheikh Mohammad Adbullah, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Dr Farooq Abdullah, and other leaders who stood by the idea of India,” he said, adding, “And there should be no reference to the terrorist and separatist forces.”
