RAMNAGAR, Mar 10: Ranbir Singh Pathania, former MLA and Spokesman J&K BJP took a dig at some politicians who after being rejected by the people have taken to the novel habit of filing pseudo complaints, frivolous applications under RTI and slinging mud on political opponents.
While conducting extensive tour of the Ramnagar area in Bhatti, Barigarh, Chani, Mansar, Sumwal, Chowa, Sarail, Chaned, Thalora and Chiani villages, and addressing largely attended meetings there, Pathania said that people of Ramnagar have already rejected politics on the basis of caste, color, creed and favoritism in the past.
He further advised the vanquished politicians to come up with innovative programmes as to how they want to develop the riff-raff area of Ramnagar. He further advised them to start contributing constructively rather than destructively towards the developmental profile of the area.
He called for immediate taking of steps for provision of drinking water supply in Bari-Ladana and stressed upon the immediate completion of stage-II works on Kulwanta-Bari-Ladana road, Marta-Dheeran road, Kulwanta-Jophar road, Kaghote-Lehri shumb road, Plassan-Bainsta, Dhanwalt, Rang, Blandh and a score of other roads of the area.
At Mansar, he held a public meeting with the prominent people and discussed the plans to make Mansar a top tourist destination in Jammu region. He said the work on a STP and VVIP guest house in Mansar is underway. He also stressed upon carving out a plan for beautification of the mighty lake so that more and more tourists could be attracted to the place. Mr Pathania stressed for association of local people with the developmental-cum-beautification works going on here in order to ensure greater accountability and public emancipation.
Pathania immediately called for stopping of drinking-water supply from the lake to adjoining residential areas as the water-level of Mansar lake was continuously receding. He also called for a massive initiative for checking pollution/contamination in the lake and preservation of flora and fauna. Pertinent to mention that Government has not yet liaised with agencies and NGOs/organisations to initiate a comprehensive programme to the effect creating a sort of ecological and environmental crisis over there.
