JAMMU, June 20: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has appealed to the Union Government led by PM Modi to undertake full OBC enumeration during the process of the case based census.
In a handout Kali Dass, general secretary of the Union stated that all OBC units of all political parties should unite together and raise this issue before the Union Government.
“Union Government on June 16, 2025 issued a notification for undertaking 2026-27 Census which would include a caste column,” he maintained adding, “No doubt there would be a separate column for caste but in the same notification, the Government has cleared that there would be no consolidation for OBCs but consolidation for SC and ST would continue as before.”
Dass also said that if the Government stops OBC consolidation then there would be no fun of a separate caste column in the census.
“Without OBC consolidation the very purpose of caste census will not be fulfilled rather it would be a grave injustice to the OBC people of the country,” he continued.
