No candidate in Clinical Biochemistry had applied from Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 13: No candidate had applied for posts of Assistant Professors in Clinical Bio Chemistry for Higher Education Department whose online applications were invited by J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) on 27/10/2017 for the 20 posts including 11 in Open Merit, four in RBA; two SCs; two STs and ALC one.
As per the official sources, on the directions of J&K High Court in WP (C) No 2138/2019 and CM No 4035/2019 titled Mehraj -Ud -Din and others v/s Govt of J&K only candidates having PG in Clinical Biochemistry were to be called for interview.
Sources said 142 applications had been received and scrutinized and 35 candidates ( 34 OM and 01 RBA ) having PG in Clinical Biochemistry were accordingly shortlisted for interview.
All these 35 candidates (34 for OM and 01 RBA ) belonged to Kashmir Province and there was none from Jammu Province despite the advertisement was issued twice by PSC, sources said.
There were no eligible candidates for other reserve category vacancies also, sources added.
The list of shortlisted candidates was published on 11/10/2019 and interested candidates could make any representation regarding their inclusion / non inclusion / merit cut off points etc, sources said.
Based on the representations the shortlist was slightly modified and again published on 22/10/2019, sources added.
Sources said earlier PSC had conducted these interviews in November 2019 and the same had to be scrapped due to the reorganisation of the J&K State in Aug 2019.
These interviews were once again conducted by the present PSC on 19th & 20th Nov 2020 and results declared thereof and 11 OM candidates and 01 RBA candidate have been selected and the provisional selection list was notified on 11/12/2020, sources added.
However, sources said the list is available on website of PSC and in case any body has any objection he can approach within week to the concerned.
Sources said even the posts in the category of SC, ST and ALC and three RBA are still vacant as no candidate with PG in Clinical Bio Chemistry under these categories had applied.
