SRINAGAR, Aug 11: The J&K Conference today said that there is no alternative to it and that it is the only party that truly represents the aspirations of people of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
This was stated by Party general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar, while addressing a meeting of party functionaries of Sonwar constituency at party office Srinagar.
Among others party’s provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, state women’s wing president Shameema Firdous, provincial vice president Ahsan Pardesi, Party spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC Provincial president Salman Ali Sagar, Provincial secretary Showkat Ahmed Mir, District president Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmed, Provincial president Women’s wing Sabiya Qadri also spoke on the occasion.
The newly appointed vice president Kashmir, Ahsan Pardesi was brought in a procession to party office by scores of workers of the Sonawar constituency. On the occasion, the party leaders felicitated the newly appointed party provincial vice president for his new responsibility.
Addressing workers, Sagar said that in order to facilitate the creation of a desired and integrated future, the confines of Jammu and Kashmir’s identity, unique socio-political character has to be protected and that only NC boasts the vigor and vitality to steer the region to safer shores in the changed and hostile times.
“We have collectively outlived a traumatic past that we will never forgive. We cannot stay ideal and mourn. NC being the sole representative of people’s political and developmental aspirations has to lead from front to etherize JK’s identity on the basis of an inclusive, secular, progressive, socialistic vision. We have to build solidarities across communities around the address of injustices, ” he said.
Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani said the newly mushroomed groups cannot provide an alternative to NC. The parties, which have come about are devoid of any ideology and principles.
“The only aim behind creating such multiple enclaves is to weaken the singular, powerful and indigenous voice of people, which in the shape of NC has continuously been guarding the contours of regions socio-political precincts all along. Our vision hasn’t undergone any alteration; our idea of JK is the same,” he added.
