JAMMU, Oct 12: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subhash Shastri here today demanded release of 3 per cent DA instalment due from July this year to the employees and pensioners well before Diwali.
In a statement, Shastri recalled the recommendations of Central 7th Pay Commission to say that as soon as DA crosses more than 50 per cent, the Centre comes under obligation to merge 50 per cent DA into basic pay or pension.
“As the DA has already touched 58 per cent now, we request for early merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay/pension with retrospective effect,” he maintained.
He also demanded regularization of all daily rated workers under SRO 64, reducing the pension commutation period from 15 to 12 years and granting an additional increase in pension at the rate of 5, 10 and 15 per cent after the pensioner complete 65, 70 and 75 years of age respectively.
