NMC demands hike in Medical Allowance

JAMMU, May 4: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri urged the Chief Minister to enhance medical allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month as per the norms of UT administrations throughout the country.
In a handout, Shastri said that UT of Ladakh has already hiked the medical allowance of pensioners to Rs. 1000 per month from April 1, 2020 while it is Rs. 300 per month in J&K for the last two decades.
He also demanded increase of 2 per cent house rent for J&K employees as the DA has crossed 50 per cent.
The NMC leader further demanded the release of pending DA/DR of 18 months from the month of January 2020 to the ending June 2021.
He also demanded release of 2 per cent DA due from the month of January 1, 2025 besides merging of 50 per cent DA with pension and pay.
Shastri further demanded regularization of daily rated workers under SRO-64.
