JAMMU, Jan 21: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri here today appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to enhance the medical allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month as per the norms of UT Administration.
Addressing NMC workers during a meet, Shastri said that UT of Ladakh has already hiked medical allowance of the employees to Rs. 1000 per month.
“Medical allowance in J&K is just Rs. 300 per month for the last two decades while prices of medicines and other medical related expenditure has increased to a large extent,” he maintained hoping that J&K UT administration should take a decision in this regard soon so that pensioners may heave a sigh of relief from the rising prices of medicines.
Shastri also said that Central Government should consider the demand of Central/ States/UTs employees and pensioners and release 3 DA installment blocked arrears in favour of the employees and pensioners at the earliest.
Other demand was that of release of 4 percent DA due from January 1, 2025 beside merging of 50 percent DA with pension and pay.
Shastri further demanded regularization of daily rated workers.
The meeting was attended by Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ram Singh, Anil Gupta, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Birbal, Raman Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Subash Sharma and Ram Lal Sharma.
