JAMMU, Mar 2: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh to announce the pending installment of 9% DA due from January last in favour of both Central and State Government employees and pensioners at the next Cabinet meeting.
While addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Gandhi Nagar here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that the salaried class was facing lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them.
Emphasizing on formulation of a National Pay Policy throughout the country Shastri also demanded setting up of 7th pay commission which would cover both Central and State Governments employees and pensioners.
