NMC demands appointment of Chairman, members for 8th Pay Comm

JAMMU, June 3: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged the PM to immediately appoint Chairman and other members for 8th Pay Commission, constitution of which was approved by the Union Cabinet recently.
NMC president, Subash Shastri while addressing a meeting of NMC workers here today referred to 7th Pay Commission recommendations implemented in 2016 and highlighted the provision to merge 50 per cent DA into basic pay or pension once DA crosses 50 per cent.
He also demanded 20 per cent interim relief for Centre and State Government employees and pensioners till the implementation of 8th Pay Commission.
The NMC leader further demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme, release of 18 months’ pending DA arrears and regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years of service in March, 2024.
His other demand remained enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs. 1000 per month.
Rajan Babu, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ram Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Anil Gupta, Vinod Kumar, Daljit Singh, Chaman Lal, Birbal and others were also present in the meeting.
