JAMMU, Aug 25: National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and Cluster University of Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to collaborate on capacity building, skill development, financial literacy, education in the securities markets and other areas of mutual interest.
NISM is a premier institute established by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to enhance the quality of securities markets through education, research, and training having its registered office at Bandra- Kurla Complex , Bandra (East) Mumbai. This collaboration aims to equip students with essential skills that align with industry demands.
MoUs was signed by Sashi Krishnan, Director NISM and Ankur Mahajan, Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, in presence of Deans of Schools and Administrative Officers of Cluster University of Jammu and officials from NISM.
Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, highlighted that the agreement aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students and faculty with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in financial markets.
Sanjeev Bajaj, General Manager-PMD, NISM, stated that this collaboration marks a significant step toward creating a skilled workforce for India’s growing securities market. He said that both institutions will collaborate for organising workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance teaching methodologies and subject expertise besides enabling small businesses with the right skill sets and training as well as creating networking forums for them to learn from like-minded individuals and industry experts.
Prof Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ, said that this MoU is a significant stride toward empowering students and faculty members with specialized knowledge and creating a robust ecosystem for enhancing skills and knowledge with regard to financial markets.
Ankur Mahajan, Registrar of CLUJ added that this partnership will open new avenues for our students and faculty, enabling them to explore careers in the dynamic financial sector.
