LEH (LADAKH), May 14: BJP National Executive Member and Prabahri Ladakh Dr Nirmal Singh during his tour to this hilly region addressed a series of public meetings. He also addressed workers meetings at Leh and Kargil townships.
Dr Singh while addressing the public meetings alleged that Ladakh region has constantly  faced total discrimination through the hands of Valley centric successive State Governments.
He said in spite of limitless tourism scope neither State, nor the Union Government tried to bring Ladakh region on the global tourism map.
Dr Singh however appreciated the people of Ladakh for their efforts in attracting a very high quality of tourists to the region this year though the Government was deliberately ignoring the region.
He also expressed grave concern over the non seriousness of the Government to open Kargil-Skardu road for the convenience of the people who have their kith and kin in Gilgit -Baltistan, the area forcibly occupied by Pakistan.
He said it is because of the support and assistance of the Army that the Ladakh people are sustaining themselves.
Nirmal Singh, while presiding over the party convention at Rinmostang Titchu Mik welcomed a large number of people into the Party fold.
He in his address he said BJP is the only party which stands for the equal treatment to all three regions and the people of this State. While the party stands for taking the democracy to the lowest level and ensure participation of the people in matters related to the development, the Government only makes hollow promises and in reality nothing concrete has been done for the welfare of masses, he added.
