Jammu, May 8: BJP National Executive Member and former State President. Dr. Nirmal Singh, alongwith Ramban District President Thakur Vijay Mohan, toured different areas falling in Siraj, Assar, Ramban, Banihal and Ramsoo mandals of the district.
These tours were organized by Ramban district unit of BJP.
Booth Committee Incharges of maximum booths were also nominated during the visits of party leaders.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, while addressing public in these mandals, said that the BJP has undertaken a massive exercise throughout the state to constitute booth level committees to strengthen the party at grassroots level and ensure involvement of all the activists. He said there is need to strengthen BJP in length and breadth of the state as this border state often witnesses such developments wherein anti-national elements pose threats and the nationalist forces come forward to defeat their designs.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that whole of Ramban district is spread over a large area and the people here have displayed unity and valour during the last over 22 years of militancy. The role of VDCs have been splendid as they have proved to be a very effective tool in fighting trained militants. The presence of VDCs have induced a sense of security among the masses. Many VDC members have laid down their lives but unfortunately their services have not been recognized at any level.
Instead of encouraging them by hiking their emoluments and regularizing their services on the pattern of other para-military forces, they are being disengaged on one pretext or the other. He demanded fulfillment of the long pending demands of VDCs at the earliest.
Distt. President Thakur Vijay Mohan said that entire district lacks adequate health, transport and educational facilities. Electricity plays hide and seek with the people. There is no one to look into the problems of the people who have been made to satisfy only through hollow promises, he added.
