Nirmal for adopting new scientific methods for horticulture sector

JAMMU, Mar 22 : While underscoring the need of making use of the new scientific methods and techniques to increase the horticultural produce, former Dy. CM & Leader of BJP Legislative Party, Dr. Nirmal Singh has said that by doing so the new innovations in the sector can be effectively used to give a boost to this sector, which would go a long way in elevating the economic profile of the people associated with it besides creating new job opportunities.
Dr Singh was interacting with people after inspecting Hariman 99, a summer zone apple plant invented by Dr. K.C. Sharma and planted at the Ashram of Madhu Parmahans at Ranjhari in District Samba. He was accompanied by former Minister & MLA Vijaypur Chander Prakash Ganga, Ex-MLA Ghulam Nabi Nayak, Director Horticulture Anil Sharma and several prominent political activists and citizens of the area.
Dr. Singh said that these types of scientific innovations have a far reaching consequence in ensuring that the horticulture marketing produce, which forms one of the major sources of our economy, gets the requisite scientific intervention and its produce increases.
While complementing the scientists for inventing this type of breed, Dr. Singh said that it would further give a boost to our Apple making it all year crop. He said that necessary steps would also be initiated to ensure propagation and preservation of this new variety, so that it becomes popular within the horticulturalists of the State and outside.
