JAMMU, June 9: Nirjala Ikadashi was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety all over Jammu region today.
On the occasion, devotees had established Chabeels to serve Sharbat to people. Besides, stalls were also organized to serve prashad to people at different places during the day.
The Chabeels were installed by devotees on each and every Mohalla of the City and its outskirts as well as in rural areas despite scorching heat. The volunteers were seen serving the Sharbat and prashad to devotees for entire day. There was so enthusiasm among the devotees to serve prashad and sharbat to people that at various places besides children and youth, the old men were also seen performing the social service.
At various places people were seen in long queues waiting for the prashad while traffic jams were also witnessed at different places as devotees were stopping vehicles for serving prashad to people traveling in vehicles as well as passers by.
Meanwhile, in connection with Nirjala Ikadashi a grand function was held at Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi Camp Phase Two where Swami Kumar Ji gave religious discourses and highlighted the religious significance of the day.
