Nine women thieves held with Army’s stolen telephone cable

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 17: Working out theft case of telephone cable wires lodged by the Army, Nagrota police today arrested nine women thieves. As per police sources, Army lodged a complaint with Police Station Nagrota that some unidentified thieves had stolen the telephone cable. Accordingly a case under FIR number 289/14 under Section 479 RPC was registered with Police Station Nagrota and investigation started. On specific inputs, police team from Nagrota Police Station arrested nine women thieves and recovered 100 meters of stolen telephone cable wire from their possession. The accused have been identified as Durgi, wife of Pittu, Meena, wife of Ramesh, Warry, wife of Pappu, Meetu, wife of Kishore, Kali, wife of Raja, Kamli, wife of Ramesh, Roshni, wife of Swaroop, Bimli, wife of Gopi and Kali, wife of Dabbu, all residents of Qasim Nagar, Narwal. Further investigation into the case is going on and more recoveries are expected from the accused in the days to come. Police team headed by SHO Nagrota Police Station Parvez Sajjad made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khaliq Choudhary.
