Nine DLs cancelled, 4 RCs suspended

RAJOURI, Jan 20: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, today cancelled four 04 driving licences for violations of the Motor Vehicles Act as part of the ongoing enforcement drive to ensure road safety and strict compliance with traffic laws.
In addition, acting on the recommendation of District Police Rajouri, the ARTO suspended four Registration Certificates (RCs) and cancelled six Driving Licences (DLs) of vehicle owners/drivers found involved in cases registered under the NDPS Act.
The action has been taken in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and relevant rules, aiming to curb traffic violations and deter misuse of vehicles for illegal activities, including drug trafficking.
The ARTO Rajouri emphasized that such enforcement measures will continue in close coordination with the district police to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law. He further warned that strict action will be taken against habitual offenders and those found indulging in activities that endanger public life and security.
The Motor Vehicles Department has urged vehicle owners and drivers to strictly adhere to traffic norms and refrain from any unlawful activities, failing which stringent legal action shall follow.
