JAMMU, Oct 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jhajjar Kotli area have arrested nine persons for gambling.
During a late-night raid, a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli arrested eight individuals while seizing a cash of Rs 1.07 lakh in stake money, and a further amount of Rs 2.97 lakh from their possession, along with gambling cards and dice, a police official said.
According to him, four vehicles-Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV, and Audi A4-were also seized from the location.
The police official said that a case under section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation has been set into the motion.
