Nice to see Mehbooba at Shah’s dinner: Omar

SRINAGAR, Feb 16:  Taking a jibe at People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said after a bitterly contested Assembly and Lok Sabha elections it was nice to see her attending the wedding reception of BJP chief Amit Shah’s son.
“After a bitterly contested election, it is nice to see Mehbooba ji attending the wedding reception of Amit Shah’s son,” Mr Abdullah tweeted on February 14.
Mr Abdullah had earlier asked PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to explain his compulsion to form a coalition Government with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State.
‘If @ArvindKejriwal can govern Delhi without cozying up to the BJP why can’t Mufti Syed? What’s The Mufti’s compulsion @jkpdp?’ he added.
Mr Abdullah was responding to reports that PDP and BJP had reached to an agreement to form a coaliation Government before Budget session of Parliament.
No political party was able to form a Government on its own in the State after a fractured mandate in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, in which PDP emerged single largest party with 28 seats. BJP was a close second with 25 seats. (UNI)
