SRINAGAR June 5: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted a series of searches across Kashmir as part of its continuing investigations against terror conspiracy by Pakistan backed terror organizations and their offshoots to destabilise Jammu and Kashmir.

The NIA was assisted by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF and raids started early in the morning today. It took several hours for the investigation agency to search the locations.
Some of those whose premises were raided are, Billal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Reban Gund Behram Takibal in Zainpora Shopian; Jahangir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat of Nildoora Shopian; Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat of Chakoo Shopian; Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Yaseen Dar of Gadapora, Shopian; Zaffer Ahmad Faktoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Faktoo of Badamibagh Sopore in Baramulla district; Ghulam Mohd War alias Shoda, son of Mohammad Sabir War of Warpora Sopore in Baramulla district; Reyaz Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Mir of Bugam, Kulgam; Fardoos Ahmad Khanday, son of Mohammad Khanday of Bugam, Kulgam; Ghulam Mohmad Mir of Tikker Kupwara; Masroor Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Katran Mirbazar; Bashir Ahmad Wani, son of Ali Mohmmad Wani of Yamrach; Abdul Rashid Malik, son of Mohammad Mustafa Malik of Hatipora; Aaqib Sidiq, son of Mohammad Sidiq Hajam of Kakapora; Javed Ahmed Shergojrie, son of Ghulam Hassan Shergojri of Marvel, Kakapora; Mehraj uddin Dar, son of Abdul Aziz Dar of Marvel, Kakapora in Pulwama; Faisal Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Sathergund, Kakapora, Pulwama; Shabir Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Salam Rather of Sonigam Bala, in district Kulgam; Saboor Sultan, son of Mohammad Sultan Sofi of Soibugh in district Budgam; Mohammad Ayoub Mir, son of Abdul Razak Mir of Checki-Choland, Shopian; Rayees Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir of Checki-Choland, Shopian; Sakib Riyaz Ganie son of Reyaz Ahmad Ganie of Checki-Choland, Shopian; Yawer Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie of Checki-Choland, Shopian; Asif Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Rahim Dar of Marvel, Kakapora in district Pulwama and Shabir Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhatof Ichkote in district Budgam.
A statement issued by the NIA said that 32 locations in J&K were searched as part of today’s crackdown. “The locations were residential premises of hybrid terrorists and overground workers associated with these Pakistan based offshoots such as The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others, which are affiliated to proscribed terrorist organisations such as Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Al- Badr etc”.
The statement said that the cadres and workers whose premises were searched are under the NIA’s scanner for their involvement in supporting terrorist activities such as facilitating terrorists, collection and distribution of sticky bombs/magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotic substances, and arms/ammunitions.
“According to the NIA investigations, these organisations supported by their leaders in Pakistan have been conspiring to commit acts of terror and violence by radicalising local youth and mobilizing overground workers, to disturb peace and communal harmony in J&K,” the statement said.
The statement further said that the investigations have revealed that Pak-based operatives were using social media / online apps to facilitate and promote terror. “Drones were being used by them to deliver arms/ammunition, explosives, narcotics etc. to their operatives and cadres in the Kashmir valley,” the statement added.
“02 live cartridges, 01 fired bullet head and 01 bayonet have been recovered during the searches. Apart from this, several digital devices containing large volumes of incriminating data and documents have been recovered by NIA in these searches. These will be subjected to a thorough scrutiny by the agency to unravel the details of the terrorist conspiracy,” the statement said.
