Baramulla, Feb 2: The National Investigation Agency, assisted by local Police, conducted multiple raids at residential premises across north Kashmir on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation, officials said.
According to sources, an NIA team, along with Bandipora Police carried out a raid at the residence of a retired school teacher in Plan Bandipora. Officials said the search operation was conducted in connection with an ongoing probe. It was further disclosed that the son the said school teacher is already under detention under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
In a separate action, the NIA team also conducted a raid at the residence of an individual at Mustafabad Gurdwara. Sources said the search was part of the same investigation and was carried out following due legal procedure.
Meanwhile, another NIA raid was underway at the residential house at Zethan Rafiabad are of Baramulla district. Officials said the individual is a government employee working in the Agriculture Department under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.
Sources said the raids were conducted simultaneously at multiple locations as part of a coordinated operation. Search proceedings were continuing at the time of filing this report, and teams were examining documents and electronic devices during the operation.
Officials maintained that further details would be shared as the investigation progresses. No immediate arrests were reported till the last update, they added. (KNT)
