JAMMU, Sept 27: National Health Mission (NHM) employees here today staged a symbolic protest demonstration under the leadership of Rohit Seth, NHM Employees’ Association president.
The protesting employees demanded the release of their three months’ pending salary.
The protesters displayed white papers at their workplaces to draw Government’s attention to their plight.
Expressing anguish, the NHM employees highlighted severe financial hardships faced by them and their families due to the prolonged delay in salary disbursement to them.
Rohit Seth appealed to the Government to act swiftly and disburse the pending salaries among the employees without any further delay. He also called for the establishment of a robust mechanism to ensure that NHM employees do not face such challenges in the future.
“Our employees are struggling for the basic needs due to delay in their salary release and the Government should immediately release their salaries so that NHM employees may heave a sigh of relief,” he maintained.
