NHAI organises health check-up, blood donation camp

KATHUA, Jan 8: As a part of Road Safety Month initiatives, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) organised a health check-up and blood donation camp at Kathua the other day. The camp witnessed an encouraging response, with health screening conducted on around 150 NHAI staff members and drivers, and voluntarily donation of 25 units of blood.
The event was presided over by the Regional Officer (RO), NHAI, Jammu Region. Senior officials and representatives from the district administration and Health/Transport departments participated, including ARTO Kathua, Medical Officers, Motor Vehicle Inspector, and other officials/staff from the District Administration Kathua and GMC Kathua.
A road safety awareness session was also held on the occasion, wherein the RO, NHAI, Jammu and ARTO Kathua delivered keynote addresses, highlighting the importance of safe driving practices, fitness of drivers, and coordinated efforts to reduce road accidents.
On the occasion, a road safety pledge was also administered to around 200 participants, reaffirming their commitment to responsible road user behaviour and adherence to traffic rules.
NHAI reiterated its commitment to road safety through sustained awareness, stakeholder coordination, and community-oriented initiatives, and expressed gratitude to GMC Kathua, district officials, and all participants for their cooperation and voluntary contribution to this public welfare initiative.
